Just purchased a webcam to use on my pc with windows XP. Plugged it in and didn't go through the PnP wizard and is pretty much not seen.

Device manager sees it as 'USB Composite Device' and the driver is 5.1.2600.0 and is dated 2001. Windows update doesn't find anything newer but the camera isn't working right and there must be a newer driver somewhere I just can't find it. Also, there is no such thing as a 'generic' webcam driver because they all use different chipsets. Without a Vendor, no one can guess the chipset and point you to a vendor's site with drivers on it.

They ebay link I posted of the same cam wasn't my seller and it was advertised as working with XP, that was just the quickest link i found. I class microsoft standard drivers and generic because they work with most things That camera you found on the US ebay, that is the cam. On all the other listings I looked at on UK ebay none of them had the camera name on it.
